Redecorating
I'm thinking of redecorating. What do you think?
(it's a padded cell)
(it's a padded cell)Liam is the inspiration behind this change. That boy is so fast! He is my first child that has actually made me feel like I had accomplished a major feat at the end of each day I managed to keep him alive. He is the child who tries to stick things into light sockets, who climbs on the backs of the furniture, who runs right in front of speeding cars. Yes, he takes my breath away, and makes my heart stop.
Just the other day, after I took my eyes off of him for a couple of minutes to wash some dishes, I found my computer keyboard missing its 'p' ';' and space bar. Yes, my little tornado actually pried the keys off of my keyboard! Why? Why would he do that? And HOW? He manages, in a few seconds to figure out how to do things on my computer that I have no idea how to do. Once, he got a hold of my cell phone, and managed to lock it. I figured out how to unlock it, but I have yet to figure out how to lock it again, which I really need to do so my phone won't call our pediatrician every time it bumps up against something in the diaper bag. He must be a genius!
I have never needed a leash for the others, but I am seriously considering one for this little guy, just to preserve his life!
So that is why the padded cell just might be the new look for us. I think it might be the only safe option with Liam in the house -- no electrical outlets, no breakables, nothing sharp -- the only way I will be able to relax again. Either that, or wait until he's grown up, but somehow I don't think I will ever stop worrying.

He is your "Andrew" :) I would love to have a padded cell here too (by the way I love the green color in yours;)....My andrew is just like that...even the broken arm isn't slowing him down in fact it has made him more of a daredevil....Oh the joys of motherhood. :)
Oh my! The first image that flashed into my head while reading this post was one of TAZ!!! :-) He's a handful alright. Exhausting!!! (If you figure out how to bottle some of that energy, put me on the short list for a couple doses, ok?)
We have one of those children too. Now he is five, and STILL keeps us on our toes, and it is even more fun with our one year old explorer in the mix. Phew! That is why I related to your post a few months back about how your accomplishment some days was keeping the children alive and safe! Some days, that's all that is done around here, literally. But hey, that is the most important thing, right? What a great mom you are!
What a fun post! He is a genius! He is so cute!
First of all, Liam is absolutely adorable. He already looks so much older than he did the last time we saw him. Good luck keeping him contained! At least you know he's got gumption :)
I was wondering when these posts would start showing up! Kyleigh's about to drive me mad and you were sitting over there in blissful silence. Welcome to the nuthouse! Miss Ky actually put new bookmarks on our computers, erased a file and called one of my husband's coworkers on my cell (try to explain that to the husband).
Glad to have your company.
I guess everyone gets a kid like that to keep us vigilant. :) Mine is Sophia, and I love what you said: It IS a major feat to keep her alive every day.
The picture of him in the helmet at the end is a nice touch. Made me laugh!
You funny girl, with the picture of the padded cell!
I miss you.
LOVE IT!!! wish I could my 2 boys in there too so they could just dish it out safely:) Miss ya, Jess
